At The Scots School Pre-Kindergarten Program, children are given the opportunity to express their creativity, explore and investigate. We have an established play-based learning program with experienced teachers. It focuses on the child’s physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual well-being and encourages each child to develop confidence and self-esteem ready for School.

Children are involved in educational Pre-literacy and Pre-numeracy programs. Each child is encouraged to learn at their own pace. Some will be ready to embark on foundation level literacy and numeracy whilst others will not. Parents are kept informed of their child’s individual learning with detailed assessment, reporting and portfolios. This ensures that they have a sound start to their formal schooling in Kindergarten.

The Link Program offers children the opportunity to spend regular time in the Junior School undertaking experiences such as Creative and Performing Arts, Science and Information Technology, Sport, Gross Motor Skills, Maths and Literacy. This enables them to feel comfortable when they move on to Kindergarten. Pre-K children have lots of opportunities to interact with the wider Scots School community. Children are able to use the facilities and grounds, be involved with the Junior School and visit the library. Children also participate in school activities such as scripture, excursions, concerts, music and dance lessons.

For optimal outcomes for your child, we suggest that he/she attends for a minimum of 3 days per week. Parents are able to select the days which their child attends, subject to availability.

Classes commence at 9.00am and conclude at 3.20pm. Children may arrive from 8.30am and be collected from 3.00pm.  After School Care is available at no extra cost until 5.00pm, then available until 6.00pm with a $10 charge.
