Bathurst
is one of Australia's oldest inland settlements and is a university town (Charles
Sturt University) of 31,000 people. It is located in the Central West of New South
Wales, just to the west of the Blue Mountains and is about a three-hour drive
from the centre of Sydney. It is serviced daily by coach, rail and air services.
At
680 metres altitude, Bathurst enjoys warm summers, cold winters and very pleasant
spring and autumn times. It boasts full retail facilities and is well-serviced
for medical and dental needs, with a large Base Hospital and a Private Hospital.
It also offers a number of excellent sporting venues, some of which are used by
the school.
