NSW Area Map

Bathurst is one of Australia's oldest inland settlements and is a university town (Charles Sturt University) of 31,000 people. It is located in the Central West of New South Wales, just to the west of the Blue Mountains and is about a three-hour drive from the centre of Sydney. It is serviced daily by coach, rail and air services.

At 680 metres altitude, Bathurst enjoys warm summers, cold winters and very pleasant spring and autumn times. It boasts full retail facilities and is well-serviced for medical and dental needs, with a large Base Hospital and a Private Hospital. It also offers a number of excellent sporting venues, some of which are used by the school.

The annual Bathurst 1000 Motor Racing event is held at Mt Panorama to the south of the city. The school is situated on the Oberon Road, to the east of Bathurst and is spread generously across its campus, providing a great sense of space. Day students are transported to the school bus via a number of local bus routes which deliver students right onto the campus. The school also runs free bus transport for students living in the neighbouring regional centres of Lithgow, Oberon and Blayney. Public bus connections to Orange are also available. The centre of the school property is the Victorian mansion, "Karralee" which was built in the 1860's as a home for the Lee family, who were among the district's early settlers. "Karralee" houses the school administration and archives.
